Frequently Asked Questions

What is the correct dosage for teas?

Generally, you can use this as a baseline for dosage: 1 teaspoon of dried herb per cup of hot water. Keeping in mind that we all have different tolerances. You can make your tea as you like it and make it stronger if that’s what you need at that time.

What are Tea infusions?

In plain speak, infusions are a longer steeped tea, resulting in a stronger brew. Add your plants, and top off with boiling or cold water (depending on the plant). To achieve an infusion, place a tight-fitting lid over the tea and allow it to steep for 20-30+ minutes or overnight, depending on the flavour and strength of the tea you desire. Strain and sip!

What are tinctures?

Tinctures are a form of herbal medicine where the plant is infused in alcohol or other menstruum and infused for many weeks. We strain and bottle, and that is your end product: Tincture drops. We recommend starting with 1 dropper to see how you feel, and you can go up from there. We make our tinctures in micro-batches in various lunar and solar phases. The ritual of making medicine is careful, and something we take very seriously. Each tincture is infused with peaceful intentions and with the utmost love. That vibration of love, intention and reverence for the plant spirit infuses our medicines and is held sacred.

What are adaptogens?

Adaptogens, in plain phrases, make us more resilient and *adaptable* to different types of stress. Whether it be physical, mental, subtle, or emotional. What we have found working with adaptogenic herbs is how you respond to stress, and life’s hardships change after you work with these plants for a longer period.

WHAT CAN I TAKE IF I AM PREGNANT?

Unfortunately, there are a lot of herbs not recommended for pregnancy. It’s best to send a note to us if you have any questions, and we will offer our recommendations based on your situation. Keep in mind that we are not doctors, and there is a lot of contradictory information about what herbs to take and not to take while pregnant and breastfeeding.
